Nominations sought for Society’s 2018/19 Awards

The Society are seeking nominations for its Awards for 2018/19, its 50th anniversary year. The award has two categories: New buildings and alterations that reflect or harmonise with local vernacular design. Repairs and conservation works that are good example of the use of local materials and craftsmanship.

Entries could include anything from a sensitive steading conversion or an extension that enhances an historic building, to the replacement of stone chimneys; well carried out re-pointing or the restoration of timber sash windows. It could even include landscaping, replanting hedges and trees in Berwickshire villages. In fact any development that preserves, enhances or restores special local character.

The award winners will be announced in Spring 2019 and nominations should be received no later than 15th January 2019.
