A Tribute

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to Brigid, Lady McEwen, our friend and President of Berwickshire Civic Society. 

Brigid was all that epitomises the word ambassador: she worked hard to protect and promote the great qualities of Berwickshire, yet her style made it seem effortless. She took the charm of Berwickshire beyond its bounds, in particular forging links with Zagan, Poland.

Brigid’s involvement within the Society spans six decades. Her knowledge and well-placed wisdom has guided the Society into the strong shape that it is in today, gathering many friends and supporters along the way.

Brigid will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed. On behalf of the Society Committee we offer our condolences and our thanks for her service.
